Analysis of Double Page Spreads

For this task I was asked to present what was included in double page spreads in music magazines.

This is a double page spread from Q magazine. It has the name of the artist in a bold font at the top of the page on the left. It has an interview underneath with some pictures relating to the text in the interview. This attracts the reader to see what the interview is about if one of the pictures apeals to them. In the top right hand corner of the large image is the masthead of the magazine to reinforce the brand. The higlighted text shows the importand parts and things that people will like so that the intended audience reads the magazine. The quote on the bottom right corner of the image is of a larger font. This shares an important/shocking peice of information to the readers to make them read thw whole article.

This is a double page spread for NME. unlike Q magazine the image is on the left page instead of the right, this is effective because you see the picture before the text therefore know who is included in the article. On the left page the text is all of one font except one drop capital that is colourful to show that the magazine is interesting. It also has a quote in the middle of the text so people read it first and want to know what else is said in the article. There are smaller images down the right hand side of the text also. This again shows what the article is about.
